My
Biography
I’m an author and IT professional, specializing in wireless networking.
My Information Technology (IT) career began in late 2001 at
Wireless-Nets, Ltd., a consulting firm focusing on the
implementation of wireless mobile solutions and training. I started by
being tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including:
troubleshooting, fixing, and upgrading PC and wireless networking issues
and components, developing and editing the company websites and
eLearning courses, and analyzing news items related to the Wireless LAN
industry for the company newsletter.
I learned more about Wireless LANs when performing research and testing
to aid in the writing of tutorials and product reviews on wireless
topics. I then pursued the
Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification
in order to assist with more consulting projects, such as analyzing
802.11 packet traces and performing RF site surveys.
In 2006 I attended the
Tropos Networks technical training course to learn more about
municipal Wi-Fi mesh networks, in order to assist with wireless surveys
for the cities of San Francisco, Miami Beach, and the Denver area.
In early-2007, I began concentrating solely on my writing career, which
started back in 2005 while employed part-time at Wireless LANs. I
currently write tutorials for
Wi-Fi Planet.com and books on general computing and wireless
networking topics.

Keep in mind, I'll always consider freelance opportunities for
authoring
computing and technology books, tutorials, and articles.
I'm also interested in
media opportunities, such as
Managing Editor or
News Editor telecommuting positions.
